Maureillas and Surrounding Area

Maureillas is a typical French Catalan village which is well served with local amenities and benefits from around 300 days sunshine per year.  The village is ideally located to explore northern Spain or southern France, is close to Ceret and Perpignan.

Further Afield

Five minutes drive along a tree lined road you will find the artistic town of Ceret, a quiet back town lined with plane trees along the restaurant filled main streets. Picasso, Matisse, Braquea and Dali all visited and feature in the excellent gallery of modern art . In the opposite direction a 15 minute drive will see you arrive at  the Spanish border .  Head a little farther towards the coast and you will discover small Catalan  villages such as  Collioure and Banyuls - find out more about these in the Days Out section.   The nearest beach is a fifteen minute drive to Argeles
